1. Direct Legal Assistance

This programme aims to provide customary resource owners, NGO's and community groups legal assistance in defence of community based property rights and the environment. This involves legal representation (emergency/long-term cases) covering administrative and judicial cases and provision of legal advice and assistance to these groups.

2. Policy Research and Law Reform

To analyse, research and develop policies relevant for the defense and securing of community based property rights, protection of the environment and promotion of community based nature resource management (CBNRM).

3. Community Legal Education Programme

The aim of this programme is to conduct environmental law and ecological awareness workshops, para-legal training, environmental monitoring and assessment to develop team of community members capable of responding to the needs of environmental protection and defending of community based property rights. Participants include community leaders, NGO's, CBO's, local officials and government officials enforcing environmental laws.

4. Campaign, Advocacy and Networking

This programme's objective is to foster the development of better and responsible environmental and resource management laws and policies at the local, provincial and national levels to promote and sustain lines of cooperation with local, national and international organisations and government agencies. This involves participation in public fora as well as support proposals of environmentally responsible laws, policies and programmes.

Internship

This area is to build the interest and capacity of law and other field of study students interested to pursue careers in public interest law and conservation areas. Since CELCOR was established in 2000, has been engaging university students in its programs.
